Hi,
My name is Jose Alvarado. I am originally from Queens but I have lived most of my life in Miami, Florida. I went 1-12th grade in Miami until going to school in Philadelphia for my first year of college at La Salle University.
My reason for attending this university in Philadelphia was that I was recruited to row Division 1 collegiate rowing at this university. So from late 2017 to mid 2018 I lived in Philadelphia, getting up at 5:30 every morning to plant a boat in the Schuylkill river to row for 3 hours straight. What a life to lead. Eventually, I came to realize how much I hated rowing crew so I quit the team.
After my freshman year in Philadelphia I transferred to Baruch as a sophomore. I met some really lovely people upon moving here. It’s really great to live here because there’s never nothing to do! There are museums, parks, exhibits, etc. I currently dorm at Baruch on the Upper East Side where I have made lifelong friendships.
