Hi Class,
My name is Kulvir Singh and I’m a sophomore here at Baruch. I was born in India and came to America in 2009. My parents wanted better education career opportunities for me and my sister, which is why they decided to move to America. I was never sure what I wanted to be in life, however I knew I wanted to be in a business field which is why I attended a business orientated high school.
I went to the high school of Economics and Finance. Its a unique school with business orientated mindset. School’s key focus was to ready the students for careers and office environment. The school provided many opportunities such as workshops and internships. I ended up growing a lot as a business professional in that school. My interest in the business sector also peeked and I ended up coming to Baruch college for further studies.
When I first arrived at Baruch I didn’t really like the campus and I wanted to transfer. I was looking at other colleges with great outdoor campus, and almost all of my friends went upstate or out of state. But after certain time the thought of transferring became unthinkable and I ended up staying. My life had adjusted to the life in Baruch and the friends I made here. I use to feel stuck here but now there is no where else that I feel more alive. If you want to be happy surround yourself with people who have similar goals and mindset as you. This is how it is in Baruch, most of the students have same major as me and similar goals. I’m looking forward to working with all of you.
