Hi writers, welcome to the blog for How Do I See?: English 2100 / Writing I, section JWMO with Jay Thompson. This class meets via Zoom, Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:25-2:05 pm. Office hours are Wednesdays after class or by appointment. If you’d like to email me, you can do so at [email protected] or DM me on our course’s Slack.
This course is called How Do I See?, and the questions at the heart of the course are: How do we cultivate authority? Who do we trust and why? How can we strengthen our own trust in our ways of seeing, judging, acting, and creating?
I will update this blog with our course schedule, readings, and weekly writing prompts (see the links above or in the sidebar). Many readings will come from our class reader, Join the Conversation; others will be posted here as PDFs.
Once a week, you’ll post a response here to a prompt you’ll get in class (and read under Weekly Writing Prompts here). For every post, you’ll do the following:
- Select the “+New” at top / select “Post” from dropdown
- Title your post beginning with your first and last name and then whatever else you’d like to call it (feel free to get creative!)
- Write your response
- In the “Categories” box on the lower right, select the current week (so, for this week, you’ll select “Week 1”)
- Select “Publish”
