The Selfish Hand

Summary

The controversial topic shown is physician-aid-in-dying (P.A.D.). P.A.D. is the prescribing of lethal medication by physicians to terminally-ill patients, patients with six months or less to live, to relieve them from agony. This image illustrates the effects of legislators forcing their personal beliefs onto the public instead of trying to meet the needs of the residents. Legislators interpret the Due Process Clause to benefit their personal goals instead of bettering society by creating an environment that prioritizes free will in a justifiable context. The predominant use of the fauvist art style is to capture and keep the attention of viewers since people gravitate toward bold colors. This style was also chosen to emphasize the importance of change by deviating from the standard or expected colors of people and objects.

  1. i love the illustration of your work, even though its just an artwork with no video or audio its the picture speaks a lot of words in the showing the different colors being used and even though each mini artwork are illustrating different scenes it all intertwines with each other.

  2. I really like your illustration. Your way of art really helped combine numerous scenes different together. The law maker being telling the patient they can’t be euthanized was a really good touch.

  3. The colors are so eye-catching. I like how the image seems to be blended in within each other. The facial expressions are so interesting.

  4. I prefer visual stuff than writing and I love how you remix just explain the whole topic and its insane that people don’t have control of their own body even if they are bound to die. GREAT JOB on the drawing.

  5. I love how your summary and illustration come together. Ive heard of the topic and now I want to research it on my own time

  6. I feel like this is an efficient way of getting your message across, and I really appreciate the effort. It reminds me of propaganda. I could only dream of drawing as well as this.

  7. Your artwork is beautiful, you are extremely talented. I think your images depict a sad truth behind the American Healthcare system, it isn’t there in the best interests of sick people but it is a business trying to earn money and push an agenda, and this unfortunately comes with disadvantages to people in need of proper medical treatment.
