No Sabo Kids

Summary

My research paper was centered around the loss of language and the subsequent loss of culture. I specifically focused on the Spanish language and the recent generations of Latino-Americans growing up in the United States. I wanted my remix to be directed toward parents raising kids in the United States, and/or any Latino living here. I wanted it to be catered toward them due to the fact that so many young children nowadays don't speak Spanish anymore and that's incredibly dangerous to our culture and identity. For the podcast, I took a more unconventional route for my remix by speaking in Spanish. I thought it'd be fun and creative to do it like this because it's exactly what I'm talking about in my essay. I also made my own subtitles for those who don't understand Spanish, and I decided to do it this way so my audience can see the importance in maintaining the language.

  1. I love your remix and that you decided to talk in Spanish. It gives your paper different depth. One suggestion I would make is perhaps instead of having English words on the screen, show images that relates to what you are talking about on the screen and having English comments as the subtitles, so we would have to be completely immersed in Spanish.

    1. The fact that you narrated your video in Spanish really matches with your argument. The idea that everyone should be learning one language and that English is the only universal language is extremely outdated. So, I like how your narration really goes against this.

  3. I love how you was speaking spanish and talking to the audience, the video made me feel like I was there . I could completely relate to this situation because I’m trilingual but my brother arent because my parent didn’t speak our native language to them as they did to me, after they learned English. My parents believe life would be easy if they only learn englsih. But now my brother are slowly speaking the language. ANYWAYS VERY GOOD

  4. Loved it , Spanish as a tool for people to communicate, it allows us to build bridges to understand new cultures and multicultural communication. Also the subtitles are Helpful.

  5. I agree with everyone else about the effectiveness of you speaking Spanish in the video, but also including English subtitles. It fits your message so well.

  6. I love how you chose this video and narration as your medium because it helps keeps the audiences attention. I also love the topic you choose because as a first born child from foreign parents I also struggle speaking Spanish.
