Edamame’s Transformation

In my video I basically presented the harmony of different cultures. It shows how different cultures may share similar features. I wanted to show that how two completely different products related to different cultures can be consumed in the same way that I have never thought about. It surprised me when I had realized this similarity. First I thought how much I love them both but I believe this is more than love. I believe this comes from habit. Seeds are highly associated with Turkish culture and how you get addicted to it, keep eating it until you finish it up seems like a habit. Like it also happens for edamame. Therefore I showed a transition in the video. In this transition the whole process is the same and the only thing that changes is the object.

I mostly used close ups because I am focusing on specific objects so I didn’t want anything else to disrupt the scene. While I was shooting from the profile I thought about showing the enjoyment of eating edamame. I also wanted to show it clearly that the person eats edamame therefore profile was the best choice. I shot the transition scene from the point of view of the person that eats edamame because that’s the moment she realizes the whole similarity and think about it.
