Orsola Garofalo, Associate Professor at Copenhagen Business, is a trained experimental economist. Her workshop provides an overview on the most recent use of experiments in management and economics. The aim is to offer participants i) a comprehensive understanding about the use, tradeoffs and implications of using experiments , ii) hands on experience on the challenges of the design of an experimental study.

More specifically, these are the main topics developed during the workshop:

a. Basic tools
b. Different use of lab and field experiments: advantages and disadvantages
c. Identification of key problems with the implementation

The structure of the workshop is based on 2 main activities:

1. Lecture based on research papers using experiments in economics and management.

2. Experimental Workshop. The participants are divided in groups and will be asked to develop together the design of an experiment to answer a specific research question.
