Enrichment Exercise

The best enrichment exercise, in my opinion, was the news literacy one. I found it to be really interesting as it changed my perspective on television news. Before, I basically assumed that all news on TV were reliable, but after the enrichment exercise I got a new perspective in judging whether or not I should believe something. I remember the examples they used: the flying penguins, the girl who couldn’t walk forward properly, and the news caster reporting on the assassination of JFK.  The first one was completely fake, but the second one was where a lot of people got tricked. I, myself, thought the story was true regarding the girl who couldn’t walk but it was in fact a hoax. From this example, I learned not to trust news reports in which has no supporting evidence such as reliable doctors to judge the girl’s condition. The third example of JFK was where I really learned what comes along with a very reliable news source.  All sources of information are always indicated and most importantly, nothing is ever assumed.
