Thank You, Howard Stern

Published by at 9:41 PM under Uncategorized

I attended 3.78 enrichment workshops this semester, not because I was exiled from one, but because I am simply such a diligent student.  Jokes.  But on a serious note, I am quite glad that my two buddies and I were “kicked out” as they say.  On the way out the door, I said, “I’m sorry sir.” to he who kicked us out.  The seasoned gentleman gave me no recognition with a stern look on his face.  From now on I shall refer to him as Howard Stern, for I don’t know his actual name.  I saw Mr. Howard Stern several times throughout the semester and gave him a friendly smile only to be continuously impeded by his impenetrable Stonewall Jackson face.  No luck with any means of redemption.  Regardless, I attended a make-up enrichment workshop, which ended up being the most useful workshops of them all.  It was about the intricacies of race, sexual orientation, and personal identity, and how they come into play in our every day lives.  While I am from a 95% caucasian town, my parents made sure I was throughly understanding of other cultures, however, the student population at Baruch is nothing I could be prepared for.  Although I already possessed most of this information, it was certainly a nice reminder.  Instead of sitting through the last fifteen minutes of a presentation about online Baruch shenanigans, I was able to actually appreciate a useful workshop.  And for that, I thank you, Howard Stern.

Glad you were able to make lemonade out of lemons, so to speak, and that the additional workshop was interesting and useful!
