The enrichment workshop was not very helpful because I couldn’t pay attention to what was happening at all. The video was too long and I had no idea what it was about. The professor tries to motivate us to volunteer but there is just no free time available because we are college students. Overall, I thought the workshop would’ve been helpful, but it was mostly about things we already knew.

College can be very stressful because of all the work that is assigned. My first semester in college was a bit stressful because all the teachers had assigned big papers and tests all at the same time. Most of the big assignments were due at around the same time so it took a lot of time and effort to complete. Other than all of the big tests and papers, my first semester in college was very simple and easy.

 

 

Focus 2

1. What have you learned about yourself through your self-assessments and how has this affected your choice of a major?

I learned that my strongest work interests are enterprising, investigative, and realistic. The results tell me that I am an individual that likes to solve problems and work with objects and things, opposed to being creative and working with my imagination. This hasn’t affected my choice of major a lot because it has only strengthened the idea of the career I want to pursue.

2. How do these results reflect a change from what you expected or planned for yourself previously?

The results don’t change much from what I planned previously because the results are very similar to what I planned for myself. It reassured me on what I want to do with my life.

3. How did participating in Focus 2 help you clarify a future direction for yourself?

Participating in Focus 2 helped me realize what I want to do and it helped me realize many different work interests, personality, and skills that I have.

My group chose to research articles on studying abroad because we thought it is good to know about studying abroad programs and how we can benefit from them. Some of us are debating whether to study abroad and researching these New York Times articles furthered our knowledge on studying abroad programs and the basic facts about studying abroad.
