The NY Times project was definitely an interesting experience. My specific group chose the theme of racism and we researched about the prevalence of racism not only locally, but nationally, and internationally. I think the topic, being controversial in nature, kept us interested in the project as a whole especially because I think it’s something we have all either witnessed or experienced in one way or another.

Aside from the project content itself I think just working with the individuals in my group helped us to be interactive with each other. I became friendlier with peers I probably would not have spoken to otherwise, especially since we are not in an Learning community together. Despite what might have seemed to be a tedious assignment, the overall experience was pleasant.
