Playlist Snapshot – Manna
When people ask me what kind of music I listen to, I never have the answer they’re expecting. Simply because, I listen to everything. I’d like to think I have a very diverse taste in music which demonstrates the many facets of my life. Every proclivity towards a genre or artist has developed from a different aspect of my life, and serves to play different roles. I can go from Daft Punk and David Guetta, to Celine Dion and Orchestral pieces. I have grown up around music nearly my whole life. I’ve been singing since before I can remember. I played the viola for eight years and the guitar for five. Having what I hope is a fairly musical ear, I try to never object any genre of music, always giving the song and artist a chance. I usually find myself surprised.
My songs by Mohombi, Daft Punk, and David Guetta are usually what I listen to for a sort of wake up, and up beat feel. They remind me of summers and parties with friends, and never fail to put me in a good mood. Some of the more folk like and cinematic styled songs by Lana Del Rey, Agnes Obel, or John Legend, are pure enjoyment. The composition, harmony and musicality always bring about a soothing feeling. I included Requiem for a Tower, first because it is a sick piece but it also attests to my eight years in an orchestra. It has played a huge role in building my foundation in music and theory. I always have and will continue to have an ear for classical or early music (Plus it helps me study). The song by Hillsong just touches upon my roots as a christian and a church choir girl. I finally specifically selected my final song by Celine Dion, because she was one of my first inspirations as a child. I still remember my feeble attempts to mimic her incredible voice. She was a foreigner who learned our language simply through singing, and transformed her life. Celine definitely deserves that spot on my list. This playlist is simply a snapshot of a very large selection of songs, without which I frankly couldn’t get through my days.

Its just music man…
Hey, my name is Catherine Hsin, but most people call me Cat.To be honest, I’m not exactly sure what to post up here, so I put my Ipod on shuffle and here are the first 10 songs to play. I feel like my taste in music is pretty diverse and it reflects on my personality. I believe that the music we listen to really gives an accurate description of our true personalities. Since I don’t really have a favourite genre I don’t know how to define my personality, but I do know that I always try new music and things in life at least once. I might come off as cold or intimidating at first, but I’m actually pretty friendly, it just takes some patience to break through my walls.

My name is Kwong Yip, also known as Jacky. I am a very casual person. Some hobbies of mine are eat, sleep, play video games, workout, and maybe research things about strategies to win a game and nutrition. I was part of Francis Lewis HS’s JROTC (Junior Reserved Training Officer Corps) drill team. We went to Daytona, Florida to compete in a national high school drill event. Too bad we didn’t win. Right now I am undecided on my major. It will be either computer science or accounting. I will definitely minor in nutrition because I want to become a part time personal trainer.
As of now, I play World of Warcraft, Soldier Front 2, Guild Wars 2, and a little bit of StarCraft 2. Can’t wait for GTA 5 to come out for PC. I used to be a hardcore gamer. Since college, it is hard to find time for games. Now I am a casual player for all those games.
I work out 3-4 times a week. I used to be fat. Really fat. It was during my junior year in high school that I decided to workout. I feel like I have more energy physically (for sports and other physical activities). However, I still fall asleep in class because I don’t get enough sleep. If anyone needs advice on training, I am the guy to come to.
Eating and sleeping is probably the most important thing for anyone who takes working out seriously. If you don’t eat right or get enough sleep, your muscle growth will not be able to reach its max potential. By eating right, it doesn’t mean you can’t eat whatever you want. It just means that you can’t go over your calorie limit. By watching your calorie intake, you can achieve a body that you want. Of course it won’t be easy. Sleeping is just important because you are resting your body and repairing any damaged cells during the process. These knowledge came from the research I did online.

Image 1 – Throughout highschool I was apart of the football team at Bayside High School. I never really thought about football before 8th grade, being that it’s a rough sport and all. I’m glad I did though, I made amazing friends and I was actually pretty good at football at my position, quarterback. That picture is of my senior homecoming game.
Image 2 – Foooood! I love food! Simple as that! I was raised to have an open mind towards every type of food and to not be picky being that my mom always said “Some kids don’t have the opportunity to have the food you have.”
Image 3 – I love math. I don’t necessarily know whether it’s math itself or if it’s the challenging problems that constantly excite me. I find math easy to understand, as if it were a language that I spoke fluent in.
Image 4 -This is a picture of Downtown Manhattan from a Helicopter Tour around the city I took this past summer. I was always afraid of heights as a child for some reason, but after football, I gained the confidence to overcome my fears, and now I just love heights.
Image 5 – This is a picture of a game I play, League of Legends. Despite my looks, I actually am a very avid gamer. I love games because they let me continue to maintain friendships with friends who are at different states studying and whatnot. I also happen to be very good at the games I play, especially League. I hope in the following year to become a very famous streamer or player in the community.
Image 6 – This is a picture of condos in Bealeton, Virginia. I visit the town a few times every year now because that’s where my father resides. My parents are divorced, so I don’t really get to see my dad often, but every time I do, I have an amazing time, filled with amazing memories.
Image 7 – That’s a picture of me and my older brother when we were younger. Obviously I’m the shorter one in the picture. My main role model before college was my brother, Oscar. He definitely gave me a guideline of my morals, of what to do, and what not to do. I never really had that consistent fatherly figure, so whenever I accomplished something or needed help, he was the person I turned to, everytime.
Image 8 – Baruch College, the new chapter in my life. Even though I’m nervous of what’s to come, I’m excited to go on the many adventures along the way.

Hi, my name is Henry and I am from Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in Brooklyn, attending high school and making friends there have shaped the person I am today. I have experienced the happy and sad moments of which my friends have a great impact on me. During my high school career, I joined the handball team and developed a close friendship with my teammates. Their exhilarating atmosphere and amusing personality brought us closer together. The lively nature of their behavior has influenced me to become an outgoing and fun person. I cherished the moments I spent with them because it was one greatest time I ever faced.

Some of the photos are my best memories in High School. During our Senior year, we had different activities like to dress up in a particular theme. I participated the “character day” and I was a Minnie Mouse. It was fun seeing my batch mates wearing different costumes. We took a lot of pictures and enjoyed the rest of the day.
