Hey, my name’s Jeff and I’m going to be creating my assigned blog post on the subject of music. I have created a playlist, however, it doesn’t seem to be working as of right now, so I decided to list it out below:
1. greyhound – shm
2. save the world – shm
3. dont you worry child – shm
4. alive – krewella
5. i want it that way – bsb
6. fucking problem – asap rocky
7. clarity – zedd
8. spectrum – zedd
9. work out – j.cole
10. get lucky – daft punk
I began my playlist with songs from the now-deceased group, Swedish House Mafia. I usually like listening to house music with a beat and more happy and positive tone to the music, and these few songs that I have selected from this group easily fits my type of personality. If I were to go into specifics and describe which part of which song I liked, I would probably have to go with greyhound’s monster climax to the song at around 2:45 of the original song. I personally find this one of the greatest and most exhilarating type of music that I can live a year listening to without a stop. I feel as if music has brought my life to levels I would have never reached, and these few songs have definitely been a major factor in my growth as a person and a student. As I walk to school, or begin a workout, Swedish House Mafia’s beat and music give puts my mind into a focused and euphoric state in which I feel as if I can do much of anything that’s reasonable and not “Crazy” or unrealistic. This honestly has boosted my character and has definitely empowered myself as a student and as an person.
The rest of these songs are also fantastic songs in my opinion. I feel as if there are songs for different parts of the day, different types of days, and songs for different moods. If I’m walking down the street, preparing to meet up with a friend, I would easily listen to any of the 7 other songs. However, the optimal song would be more specific as I would narrow down choices and choose songs accordingly. Get lucky by daft punk is easily one of those songs that I would listen to, to do anything. The beat and melody to this song is one of the most calm and hypnotizing that I’ve heard in a while. And in the best way possible. I feel as though this song is under appreciated, although it’s been played on the radio quite the number of times. Unlike Blurred lines which has been played nearly 800 times in the past 3 minutes, Get Lucky is actually a song that deserves recognition and repetitive play/
Rough times, good times, music has played a role in my recovery and celebration of my life. When times are tough, music is there to help relieve you of stress. And when times are great, they can make them far greater. This is why I feel as if music is one of the only things that can control a person.
