Blog Post 1: My Life As a Cat

My Life As a Cat

My name is Sally Mei. It may sound a little weird but sometimes I wish I was a cat. With three cats of my own, I sound like some crazy cat lady but they truly define me as a person. My eyes. Like a cat, I always have those smoldering, piercing, beady little things, staring straight at you. I achieve this with eyeliner and some mascara but the idea is the same. I’m always full of curiosity and my staring eyes give it away. Companionship. I always need somebody with me. This may make me seem dependent but who doesn’t like good company? I cannot stand being alone but I understand solitude is something beneficial that comes in moderation. I prefer the company of others but I’ve learned to stand by myself. Like cats, I am initially somewhat of a cold person but I eventually warm up. I learn to like and love everything around me as I get used to it. Catnaps. These are what I live for. I’m a busy, busy person sometimes and I can’t help but doze off just a little bit when I have the spare time. I go to school only three days of the week, but the other four days, I spend my time working as a part time teller at a bank. The work from school and work almost consume me. Catnaps are my way of escape; they save me. Food. I enjoy good food. I am curious of all flavors and my sense of taste is very sensitive. I like the cultural fusions of ethnic foods. It tells me a lot about cultures I have never known before. Like my cat, Belle (pictured), I am quite a sassy little princess. I have a strong perspective on everything and I like to prove my point. Belle looks really glamorous in her photos but I’m not sure if I am. I’d like to be glamorous, but who knows? Maybe one day. Some people say the owners and pets begin to resemble each other after a certain point in time. I agree. I feel as if cats are the best way to describe my life in its entirety. I am a cat enthusiast and I’m sure it shows through my cat-ography (cat photography).
