What’s up guys,
Music plays a tremendous role in my life and I couldn’t imagine life without it. To give you guys the heads up, when I say I love music, I mean I love all types of music and absolutely appreciate them. Growing up in New York, Hip-Hop/Rap has definitaley been one of the main genres I have been listening to, along with rock. If it was up to me, I would choose so many more artists and more diverse genres, but these are the songs that define me in a way. Gotta rep the East Coast rap, showing all the 5 boroughs some love. Sorry for going over 10! The Beastie Boys are MY boys. Just a couple jewish kids from Brooklyn that impacted the entire rap genre, which nobody thought was possible. “Sabotage” and “No Sleep Til Brooklyn,” are a couple of my favorites. Everybody loves 50, and everybody needs to party like its their birthday every once in a while, so “In Da Club” deserves a spot. Having Brooklyn and Staten Island roots, gota rep Wu-Tang Clan. These guys just go hard, and people don’t understand how much influence they have in music, even til this say, so when you step outta line, gota blast “Protect Ya Neck.” Shooting all the way to Cali, The Game definitaley deserves a spot with “Hate It or Love It.” Biggie set the bar for rap back in the day, “Juicy” is everybodys favorite so we’ll show that mix a lot of love. Of course Eminem plays a huge role. When the going gets tough, put on “Lose Yourself” and anything is possible, you just gota want it. For the times when I could give a shit about what anyone thinks, “The Anthem” by Good Charlotte goes on blast. We have to thank Queensbridge for giving us Mobb Deep. “Shook Ones” just makes you feel shook, its that simple. Jumping all the way to a different genre, Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California” makes you feel like your dreams can come true one day, just gota see where this road called life takes ya. The Chili Peppere deserve a spot with “Under the Bridge.” Such a calm and relaxing song with a great message. What kind of New Yorker would I be if I didnt show jigga some love, so Jay-Z gets a big fat spot with “99 Problems.” Last but not least, although he’s not my favorite and a lot of what he does and says pisses me off, gota respect his music, because he does own the entire rap game, along with the other rappers up here. Kanye gets a spot with “Runaway” and “Blood on the Leaves.” Love the classsics, but love the new school stuff too. Give these songs a listen. Some powerful shit.
