Paulina’s Playlist :D

Hi guys name is Paulina! Music has always been a passion of mine. I started playing the trumpet since I was 12 in my middle school band and I started playing piano from the age of 7 but quit taking lessons at 12. From that point on, I just started playing songs I like to listen to on my own, instead of playing the usual classical music when I took lessons. I listen to all kinds of music-hip hop, pop, R&B, rap, classic rock, old music, Some of my favorite bands/artists are OneRepublic, Maroon 5, The Beatles, Billy Joel, Elton John, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. I love listening to all of them and I also sing 24/7 which ends up annoying all my friends lol. I’ve always been very ambitious and I strive to do the best that I can. When I come across obstacles in my life, I always try to stay optimistic. Some songs I chose that represent this are Brighter Than The Sun and Good Life. One thing that has always intimidated me was change. However, it is something that is inevitable. Transitioning from a high school senior to a college freshman is a very overwhelming process and one of the biggest challenges I have experienced. This is the time for growing up and finding myself. Some of the songs I’ve chosen express what Im going through. (Breakaway, Vienna, New Soul)

hii everyone 🙂 my name is Daniela ..I’m not very fond of writing and especially if its about myself. I kinda feel like I’m on myspace. Anyway..I am very outgoing and I enjoy meeting new people, because I like to hear about their life and their views. I am an athlete, I swim for Baruch and I have been swimming for the past six years. Swimming has become a huge part of my life. I adore my brother, Matthew. He is two years older than me. Um… I love music, all music and everything that comes with it. I hope one day to work with music..hopefully owning my own successful record label. It is a huge passion of mine. I think music is the greatest gift you can give someone. So if anyone has anything they want to share with me.. please do!!!! 🙂 I’m also in love with the city and I love living here but I do miss home. I have travelled a lot but I hope in the future I can travel some more for longer periods. My favorite place that I have been to has to be Costa Rica. I would put some pictures up but I don’t really know how too, sorry. bye!!!

A little about Kristina
kn158312 on Sep 24th 2013
Hi everyone!
I don’t really know how to use this blog thing so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be by giving you all a link to my Flickr account onto which I have uploaded a few pictures about myself. I have provided an explanation to the pictures below. Here’s the link:
Hope you guys enjoy!
Pictures 1 and 2:Â I have been boxing since the age of 13. To say that I love boxing would be an understatement. I spend about 3 hours a day, 6 days a week training, so when I am not at school, sleeping, or eating, chances are I am training! I train in Downtown Brooklyn at a gym called Gleason’s Gym which has been around for a very long time and has a very rich history. Boxers such as Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano have trained there and it’s pretty cool to think about that. The first picture shows my second fight against a girl from California. The second is me and Oscar De La Hoya when he came to do a clinic at my gym.
Pictures 3 and 4:Â I am originally from Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Greenpoint can be seen on the map of Brooklyn all the way at the top. It is the Northern most point of Brooklyn. I know the picture’s really small, I’m sorry I’m just not very good with technology (what an old lady thing to say). Anyways, the following picture is of Greenpoint. I have spent my entire childhood there and this year is the first time I have not lived there. Even though I am not living far (Brooklyn Heights) I still miss Greenpoint a lot and it holds such a big spot in my heart. I know that I will always call it home and it is such a special place for me.
Picture 5: The little white dog is Alex! I have had Alex since I was in the fourth grade and he is literally the best dog ever, well I guess I’m prejudiced. He likes my mom a lot better than he likes me which makes me sad but I still love him regardless. The cat’s name is Charlie and about two years ago I found him in my backyard. He was only about a week old and the size of a hamster. He was sick and had been abandoned by his mom so I bottle fed him until he was stronger and took care of him.
Pictures 6 and 7: I took these pictures in Bulgaria which is where my dad is from. Many people don’t know where Bulgaria is because it’s a very small country but it is bordered by Greece to the south and Turkey to the east. All of my family on my dad’s side lives there so we try to go back and visit every other year or so. On the years when I do go, it is definitely the highlight of my whole year. I love seeing my family and I love the country. It is so beautiful and everywhere you go there is history all around you. The first picture is of a Roman amphitheater which is a few blocks away from my Grandma’s house and the second is the arch from the ruins of a Byzantine church on the coast of the Black Sea.
Picture 8: Obviously a picture of a plane. I included this because I really hope to be able to travel in the future and see many different parts of the world. I love world history and love to learn about the cultures, history, and stories of the people in different places. So far, I have been to five other countries but I hope to greatly expand this number in the future!

Hi :)

Hey guys, name is Adriana and I’ve lived in New York since day one. I created a playlist and you can find it here ….. http://grooveshark.com/#!/playlist/AS+Playlist/90787606
I love music, I love all kinds of music and I’ll listen to anything and everything at least once. I guess the best way to describe me is to explain the songs.
First is Reptilia by The Strokes they’re a band from New York and I can’t grow out of them; I’ve been listening to them since middle school. They have a coolness about them and I usually listen to them on the train.
The second is Say My Name, Destiny’s Child. This is my car song, my karaoke song, my girl power song. Best girl group ever. I also love Beyonce. Enough said.
#3 Let us Move on, Dido ft Kendrick Lamar. I think of her as the quiet Adele, they both give me chills. I love the collaboration with Lamar it makes the song.
#4 Whenever, Wherever Shakira. I sing it in the shower. I sing it at the beach. I sing it with friends, and we just dance around like losers trying to be Shakira.
#5 Blown Away, Carrie Underwood. She’s like Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson combined, I get goosebumps when she belts it out. She fits into the country music that I usually listen to.
#6 Good Vibrations, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, Completely corny, and I can’t help but randomly sing the first part from time to time. It’s also on my workout playlist.
#7 Infinity, The Xx its slower than anything else on here. I usually listen to this song when I’m alone chilling out or doing homework. I love the acoustics and the progression. I find I get it stuck in my head a lot.
#8 Italiana, Severina. The titles misleading as I’m not italian and neither is the singer. I’m Croatian and Severina is like the Madonna of Croatia she represents all the non-english music I love too. The best summers Ive spent are spent there, and she usually has some big club hit. It was this one the last time I was there.
#9 Celebrity Skin, Hole. I listened to Nirvana and then I found Hole. I haven’t listened to Nirvana in a while; I still listen to Hole. And while Courtney Love is sort of crazy, she’s a badass and most of her songs are like that. She’s grunge, pop, rock and sometimes really good.
Lastly is Suspicious Minds, Elvis Presley. Its probably out of tune with everything else in here. But I could listen to this endlessly. Its my favorite Elvis song, and there’s no need to explain why.

Micah’s Slideshow
mr153683 on Sep 23rd 2013
Hi everyone!
I’m Micah Reyes, born on March 16, 1995 and raised in New Rochelle, New York (Westchester County). I created a slideshow (link above) filled with pictures of great significance to me. In the first picture, I am seen wearing a pink-sequined tutu and ballet slippers. It accurately depicts my passion for dancing at such a young age, although now I prefer hip-hop, tap and jazz than ballet.
The second picture is from my high school graduation with my mom, dad, brother and sister. My mom is a nurse for plastic surgeons all over NYC while my dad is a nursing manager at Hospital for Special Surgery also in NYC. They both grew up in the Philippines and came to America in their early 20s. My brother is seventeen while my sister is fifteen; they’re both in high school. My family is extremely important and special to me and I wouldn’t be where I am today without their love and support.
The third picture is of my beloved Chihuahua Katie. She died on July 1, 2013. She was my best friend since I was seven years old. Losing her was the toughest thing I ever had to endure in my life. Rest in peace Katie.
The fourth picture is of my best friend and roommate Aminah. We met in third grade and have been extremely close ever since. We’ve been through elementary, middle, high school and now college. Both of our decisions to attend Baruch College had nothing to do with one another. It’s crazy how we ended up in the same block and now we have almost every class together. We literally grew up together and I know I wouldn’t be the same person without her.
The fifth picture is of my boyfriend Kurt. I met him when I was seven years old. We’ve been together for more than two years. He’s in the Regiment of Cadets at SUNY Maritime College. He’s very special to me. I never thought I would find anyone I could be so comfortable around other than Aminah!
The sixth picture is most of my high school friends. We all had amazing memories in high school and I miss them so much!
The seventh picture is makeup. My passion for makeup developed in middle school. I stumbled upon makeup videos on YouTube and became obsessed. I aspire to someday start my own makeup brand or at least work for one.
The eighth and final picture is of Irene, Kristina N., Kristina S. and Aminah. These girls are my new college friends and I love them already! I’m so happy that I found people like me to help make my college experience better.

My life – Patrick
pr156544 on Sep 23rd 2013
Well hello there ladies and gentlemen, my name is Patrick Ryniewski. I have an easy going attitude and am I not serious 90% of the time. As for the photos, they are [Almost] self explanatory. The basketball hoop pictures means that I enjoy playing basketball. I have played it since junior high school with two of my closest friends to this day. The bicycle picture that shows the reasons why riding a bike has its advantages is because I rode a bike to high school every day and I ride my bike down the east river (Or Hudson river, I am getting pretty confused on which for some reason). Unfortunately, I crashed my bike once and even though I messed the bike up pretty badly I was not hurt at all. I did a 360 in the air but managed to do some weird push up position to avoid getting hurt. Because of that I temporarily used my brother’s  nice bike for which it was stolen in the next three days while in school. The cooking picture is important to me because I like cooking. It is what I enjoy doing often but I never have the right ingredients for certain things. Some days I imagine what it’s like to be an astronaut and look at the sky with infinite possibilities. That is why I added the space picture, that picture is usually my avatar, too. The attack on Titan, is currently my favorite anime show. I watch 5-7 anime shows a week, because they either come out Thursday or Sundays. These shows influenced my Sunday to be dedicated for a a nice breakfast watching anime >:). The computer picture and Youtube picture go together. The computer is the equivalent of my game console, and Youtube is my equivalent to a television. A television that always has a good show on! I put it a picture of a cat and dog because it is what I own. Sometimes annoying but always love-able!

About Me/Playlist
fm158688 on Sep 23rd 2013
Hello Everyone,
My name is Felix Moronta.  I am a simple kid from Queens who hangs out with friends, plays basketball, go on spontaneous adventures, and listen to music on my free time.  I love listening to music that paint pictures, show emotion, and have lyrics that grasps my attention the first time I listen to them. My preference is mostly Rap and Hip-Hop, and Old School Hip-Hop and R&B, but i do listen to all musical genres from Pop to Rock. The musical playlist I created has all my favorite songs and also show who I am. All songs have a personal connection to me, from my rebellious behavior shown in F*cking Problems by A$AP Rocky, to my sensitive side as shown in Suffocate by J. Holiday. In the playlist I also included some Spanish songs ranging in genres; from Spanish Soft Rock to Salsa and Bachata. Those are  the genres that I listened and danced to when growing up.
I literally have a song for any mood I may be feeling at any particular moment.  For example, when I’m driving and am alone I like to listen to Don’t You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia or some Britney Spears. Don’t judge me. I also love to enjoy moments that induce nostalgia which is why I always listen to Old-School musical artists such as Slim Shady and Pretty Ricky. To me, music is more than just words spoken in a rhythm on an instrumental. Music is a way to escape to a place where no one can judge you, even though me listening to Britney Spears might be cause for judgement, but nevertheless there is a musical genre for everyone to get lost in and just forget the world’s problem for a while.  Music molded me into who I am today; a free-spirited, open-minded , happy, music and party loving, sensitive kid.  Have a great day, afternoon, or evening everyone.
