My enrichment workshop was the further-in-depth exploration of research/source citation skills, using FOCUS 2 survey from the STARR program. Taking this survey changed many things for me. I came into Baruch thinking that English would be my major. I want to become a lawyer so I can become a judge and not any old judge, a great judge. I thought that doing English would prepare me by improving my writing and orating skills. When I did the FOCUS 2, it showed me the majors for specific jobs and the amount I can make in one year. I looked for my occupation and found that my major should be Political Science and Government. I was a bit relieved because I enjoy politics. I want to change lives and be able to help people and my country. I want to be the next Olivia Pope. I want to be a part of history. I also learned that I am very responsible and I want to do my job efficiently. This workshop opened my eyes and helped me choose the right major for the career I want to pursue. I do want to double major, so I will push forward and do my best. My career in law will be great and I am determined to be successful.

My Baruch Experience thus Far(Ashlee’s 3rd Blog Post)
My time at Baruch College so far has been amazing. This picture shows what has motivated me in these few months at Baruch. I am determined to be successful and do my best. I never want to forget my values. In order to reach the goals I have set for myself, I need to have faith. I know that I can do all the things I aspire to through God. This verse basically states that. I have been doing well and each day I am getting stronger. I am glad my family instilled good values within me. I just want to stay on the right track. I want to prosper, be in good health and become successful. Without God none of that can happen. This Baruch experience thus far has shown me many people and cultures. I am going to try to continue doing my best so I can reach my goals. This verse is the verse for my life.
Ashlee’s Blog Post #2

My group is called Baruch Nationwide. We chose alcohol as our topic because as young college students alcohol always is around in some form or fashion. “The college years,” are known for a lot of drinking and partying. We wanted our front page to feature all this topic can offer. I personally did an article on teen drinking and driving because most of the fatal auto accidents happen because young adults under age 26 got behind a vehicle while they were drinking or after getting drunk. This is the negative side to drinking and i wanted to feature it because many tend to over look how others can be affected by their actions. I did the bear-cat article as well. The topic I chose was Baruch’s Student Life. I chose Student Life because without Baruch would be know just for its business department and it being a commuter school. Student Life brings fun to the campus and allows us all to have a good time as college students. We also get to network and meet new people. At the end of it all, Baruch’ Student Life is unique and makes Baruch special.

This is an eight image slideshow of some of the best moments in my life thus far. I have had great experiences and these photos are just a few moments that I treasure the most. I love fashion, dancing, having fun and just living for every moment that I am apart of. I graduated from high school in June 2013. In my senior year alone, I have had the most smiles that I have had in long time. When I work hard, I focus on my work and I try to do the best job that I can. When my senior year came, I was determined to have fun and live for each moment. From the fun times with my family to my prom and graduation ceremony, I absorbed it all and enjoyed the moments. My valedictorian plaque holds so much meaning to me. It shows what hard work and dedication can get you. The dance picture signifies where my passion comes from. When I dance, I speak. It is my secret language. The two flags of Guyana and Trinidad, represents my culture and where my heritage stems from. The memory verse from Philippians 4:13 is my favorite verse in the Bible. I am a young Christian and that verse gives me hope, strength and assurance. The quote in the last picture is the perfect description of who I am. I am far from perfect. I am full of madness and craziness, but my personality is never boring, but it is just me. When I am not crazy and having fun, I am very quite, laid back and in deep thought. All of this makes up who Ashlee is. In the collages, my family, friends and my favorite picture perfect moments are highlighted. I have two great friends that I just met, Vanessa and Angela. With new beginnings, comes new friends who probably will be there for a lifetime. My best friends are the people I run to for support and this makes them a huge part of my life. My family is EVERYTHING to me. They support me through everything and for that I am thankful. Life to me is all about enjoying each moment. I am doing that. As I embark on this new journey at Baruch, I hope to have tons of pictures signifying my experience here. I am just thankful for life. I am truly blessed.
