The songs in my playlist are mostly about what I think I will experience in my college years. I chose these songs because I can relate the song lyrics to myself and to what I see in future. The lyrics in the beginning of “Fifteen” described exactly how I felt as I enter the college. “You take a deep breath and you walk through the doors. It’s the morning of your very first day. You say “Hi” to your friends you ain’t seen in a while. Try and stay out of everybody’s way”. I try to do my own things so I don’t get in trouble with other people. Freshman in college feels like being a freshman again in high school because I don’t know anything about this school and the teachers. In “Fireworks”, the meaning of the lyrics is that everyone is unique. I’m not sure who I am right now. Therefore, in college, I am ready to explore who I am that makes me different. In addition, there are a lot of people in Baruch, I know I’m going to meet some awesome people who are different from everyone else. “Live while we’re young”, “Good Time”, and “Unwritten” all say that we should enjoy the life it comes. I believe that I will enjoy every moment in college, maybe except for midterms and finals. In “The Climb”, it talks about being strong when you face obstacles. I know for sure that there will be obstacles in the way of reaching my goals. Therefore, I hope I can be strong when I face these problems and even if I fail, I will keep trying. “Make it Shine”, “Leave it all to me”, “Fly”, and “What Dreams are made of” are some of the songs that I listen to when I was younger. These songs cheer me up because these songs have encouraging messages. They all talk about be brave and reach for your dream. Going to college is another step toward my dream. Theses songs are sometimes like a guide to me when I am lost in the journey of reaching my goals.
