“Women Bought and Sold in Nepal” by Katie Orlinsky

It shouldn’t have come off as a surprise that human trafficking is prominent in this part of the world as well. I read a similar 15- page article in my English class that spoke of the same issue in Tenancingo, Mexico. I believe that the reason human trafficking is so understated in modern- day society is because of the horror behind it. Like slavery, it is a portion of history that many would rather forget. I really admire those survivors who have the courage to come out and tell their stories. It sheds light on this crime that many may not be familiar or comfortable with. Personally, I didn’t like the article because it was pretty vague and dry. Charimaya Tamang’s story was too brief to provide adequate insight into the issue of human trafficking.
