Eswar Dommaraju
Hi guys! I’m Eswar Dommaraju and I feel like these pictures represent me as a person and some of my interests.
I have always loved music. I play the Tabla, which is an Indian percussion instrument played with the fingers of both hands. The number of variations and beats that can be played on the Tabla is what initially attracted me to it and over the years I have been lucky enough to give live performances.
I also love to sing and have been doing so for a long time. I learn what’s called Carnatic Sangeetham which is a style of singing associated with southern India and won a couple of singing competitions. I listen to all sorts of music as long as they have good beats and try my best to learn to sing all types of songs.
I really enjoy playing basketball and tennis. LeBron James has been my favorite player ever since his Cleveland days and I am excited to see him go back and play for his home team. I want to try and get tickets when he comes to MSG to play the Knicks and see him live for the first time. Tennis is an awesome sport and playing for my high school team with some of my best friends senior year really gave me some amazing memories.
Riding my bicycle was always one of the things I used to do when I was bored, growing up in Rego Park, and still is something I do in Hicksville. I just go around town and explore new neighborhoods or places to chill with my friends that I’ve never noticed before. Plus, it’s a great workout.
The picture with the water fall is my home town in India called Tirupati. It is one of my favorite places in the world just because of how much nature surrounds the town. Tirupati is surrounded by hills and my Uncle has a house right at the bottom of the hill with spectacular views of the waterfalls that come to life during rainfalls. All sorts of animals show themselves as soon as you start the short journey to the top of the hills which is something I always look forward too when I visit.
Spirituality is a fairly new interest of mine that I have adopted because I feel like it balances my life. It allows me to look at the world in a totally new perspective that really keeps my mind open to absolutely everything.
The movie reel is just because I like watching movies. I will watch any good movie out there no matter what language its in as long as its got subtitles. I feel like movies are an escape from reality for at least a few hours that provide amazing entertainment no matter the genre. Going to theaters and watching them on the big screen is something I’ve always enjoyed rather than watching them on television which just doesn’t have the same effect. Having an actually home theater with recliner seats and a popcorn machine would be so cool though.
