Eight Image Slide Show: Freshman Orientation Assignment #1
My name is Kevin Malakov. I am a proud born American who lives in Queens (best borough), New York. I am excited to explore a new chapter in my life with you guys at Baruch College. For my first couple of pictures I decided to show my passion for sports such as basketball and swimming, even both at the same time, water basketball. I started playing basketball since the fourth grade and have played ever since. I am also a huge NBA fan and try to go and see the Knicks play when I can at Madison Square Garden.
Another important aspect in my life is my family and friends. I love to spend time with my friends and do all sorts of things like paintball waterrafting etc. My family is really important to me. I understand the meaning of family and am grateful to have such a loving, caring family. My parents are originally from the former Soviet Union, however, came to the U.S over twenty years ago and inspire me everyday with their achievements. Moreover, I also have two siblings, an older brother and younger sister.
Other then family and sports I also take a great deal in my studies. I know that college is a crucial aspect in pursuing a great career and I plan to do whatever I can to excel and be the best I can be. Nevertheless, although I am involved in my studies I also like, like anybody else love to have fun and participate in a bunch of things for instance the ALS ice bucket challenge. The last picture shows my reaction while being soaked by cold water.
Humor is something that I have always enjoyed. I admire when people around me use it. For instance, a year ago while I was working in a medical office as a medical assistant my co-worker thought it would be funny to put a note in front of my desk notifying me that I am fired. At first I was shocked, but then I saw the just kidding written in tiny print. Ever since then I have admired my co-worker for that joke she pulled on me that day. Hopefully, I will bring you guys some more insights on sports and collaborate with you guys on our studies, and most of all bring you a sense of humor. Lets have a great four years guys!
