First Semester Meme

FRO Meme

Well college is a new experience for me, as I believe it would be for all of us. My meme talks about how truly expensive going out in the city is, and how going to try new things costs some serious amount of money that is not as easy to have. I have gone to try new foods around the city, and it has been a wonderful experience, but it all adds up to be a lot of money I barely have disappearing. Baruch is a wonderful experience, and my parents want me to enjoy my time in college. I love the time I am having at Baruch and the people that I am sharing it with, just sometimes the money is a lot and I have to watch how much I end up spending to see if I can afford it. I love everything about Baruch, and one of the best things there that I can enjoy is the $5 dollar sushi, which I can easily afford and do not mind eating because it tastes good. I want to go out more and see more of what the city has to offer, just sometimes it is too much of a hit on the pocket, so if there was an easier way to experience all the city has to offer, I would gladly use it to see more.

My Monologue: Max

I am a very helpful person. I always end up going out of my way to do things for others, even when they don’t do anything for me in return, because I just like to help others. I help others most of the time, even though they don’t deserve my help, but I’ll still help them anyway because everyone needs help with something. I don’t mind helping others, but when people begin to take advantage, that’s when I put my foot down.

Even when I was smaller, I was a pretty helpful person. I went to revisit my 3rd grade teacher a few weeks ago; since she always went out of her way I’ll always remember her. When I went to go visit her she said I’ve gotten so big, but that I still resemble what I looked like as a 3rd grader. She was happy for me that I was going to Baruch and then she told me a story from what happened when I was in 3rd grade. She said ever since that day she always thought I would aspire to do great things. So the story was that one day I was in class drawing next to a friend of mine named Kevin, and his marker popped and got the color all over his face. She told me that without her asking for help from me, I took him to the sink as soon as it happened and then I got a paper towel and started to clean his face. I smiled when I heard that story because I’m still like that today.

Throughout high school I was pretty helpful too. I gave peer tutoring for all the math classes in high school, and work as a member of the National Honor Society to help the school community. I helped to start an event that was not only fun for the school, but one that helped raise money for an event that helped my high school be more known. I helped to make a Pie in a Teacher’s Face event a reality in my school, and it helped to raise funds for the SkillsUSA Organization in our school for others to compete in a nationwide event where our school is ranked in now.

Helping has always been a characteristic that has been associated with me. Most people you ask in my high school about how to describe me will say helpful, and the rest will say kind or that I always smile, which I do. I keep a positive attitude so it makes helping others much easier, even though if I didn’t have a positive attitude I would still help others any way I could. Being helpful is one of my traits, and I don’t think anything is going to change that for me, so I’m just going to keep being helpful for the rest of my life, cause personally, there’s no better way to live than a happy way.

Who I Am: Max

Maltese – Personally, I am a major dog lover and I probably always will be. I enjoy being with dogs since they’re very playful and have a good attitude towards others, by never judging first, and I like to believe I am somewhere along those lines.

Dinosaur – The T-Rex is the tallest of the dinosaurs and throughout high school I was considered to be the dinosaur because I am tall but have very small hands for a man of my stature. I like to think it’s because I’m fierce but to be completely honest I’m probably one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

Ecuador – Although I wasn’t born in Ecuador, I am an Ecuadorian at heart and talking about my country and showing others how life is over there compared to here empowers me. However, I’m not the traditional Ecuadorian since I am almost a foot taller than the average Ecuadorian.

Family – Family is very important to me. Family comes first before everything else, so having divorced parents and knowing that I will never have my family complete again hurts me constantly, and I’ve had no choice but to accept it. I have 3 half-brothers, but not a single one from my father and mother together.

Friends – Friends are great to have, but it’s better to have friends in your same interest group. That way you can make plans that are easier to agree on, which mainly involve going to the park on Saturday mornings. Going out with friends makes a person feel welcome, so I hope everyone can feel the warmth of friendship.

Leader – I hate to be behind someone, and I mean that in the literal way. Walking behind someone is very stressful when they’re slow and you have long legs and big feet like I do. Well other than walking, I’ve never had a problem in taking charge of whatever it is we’re doing and I know that you have to be harsh when you’re a leader, but it’s worth it for the common good.

Danillo Gallinari – He is my favorite basketball player. I love to play basketball because it just takes me away from this world and puts me in a different one, one that’s more spherical and entertaining. My first game was a Knicks game against the Lakers, and Gallinari put on a show that made me just realize what it meant to be a basketball player for the big leagues.

Alien – I enjoy sci-fi and all the aspects about it. I am one of those people that believe in the extra terrestrial because I find it hard to believe that in the entire galaxy that we’re the only planet with life. I like looking at the sky because there is way more than the eye can see, which is what I believe about people because everyone has something different about them.
