Majors Minors Fair

img_1592My friend Albert and I went to the majors minors fair on November 10th. We both came into the day not knowing anything about how majors and minors even work. We got to the fair and there were many Baruch students and advisors helping you. I told one of the staff there that I was infested in attending Zicklin. So she showed me all the different majors that you can choose from if you plan on graduating Zicklin. After showing me many options I was able to narrow it down to two choices which I’m currently debating between even though I still have a few years to choose. Marketing and Finance both sounded very interesting to me. I was very happy to come out with at least a more narrow choice of majors than I went in with.

when in trouble hit up the academic advisemnt

Coming into college from high school was a very tough transition for me. I had trouble making friends, figuring out what i want to do. So this past week was spring semester registration. I didn’t know what class i wanted to take or in which direction i wanted to go for my major. So i spoke to one of my new friends that i met this year and he told me to go to the academic advisement office. That was probably the best advice i got all year. I went there and it was a pleasure from the start. The advisors there are more than welcomed to help you out. With a smile on their faces they basically helped me make 3 different schedules each taking me in a different direction. They explained to me how each class you take will help you for a different field of interest. I walked out of that office feeling confident of what i am going to do in my next semester.img_5975 Im really greatful for this department in Baruch.

img_1209My schedule this year at Baruch gave me a lot of free time during the day and I didn’t know what I do with myself. I have a three hour break three times a week and I was bored out of my mind. I spoke to a couple of kids that graduated the same high school as me and told me that a Rabbi comes and speaks twice a week during the breaks. I was ecstatic when I heard the news I went to the Rabbi’s class and I learned a lot about Jewish laws. Now I started going to this class during my break twice a week and I made a lot of new friends and to top it all off when you go to the rabbis class we get a free meal.
