Today I attended Baruch’s major and minor event located in the multipurpose room. At first, I had difficulties finding the location. I didn’t know where it was until I asked a friend, and he told me that it’s at the same place that Baruch Voice was located last Thursday. As I head to the event I noticed a long line, and a girl handing out flyers with the Bearcat next to her. It was 12:28pm. This is probably the line for the event, I thought. After a couple of minutes when I finally approached the beginning of the line, there was these two ladies two were handing out two papers. One of them was a survey we had to do about the event. As I walked into the room I noticed that there was three rows. Each representative sat at a table with a big paper of their major/minor on it. It was not what I expected, because I didn’t think it would be a interactive event. Rather, I thought it would be like a lecture where all of us were seated and the representatives talk. Overall the event was alright. There was a handful of majors I was interested in and took a couple of flyers from, which included marketing, computer information system, real estate, public relations, and so forth. But, I did not find this event very helpful. The most helpful thing that came out of it was the flyers, but the representatives did not not speak much. I think part of the problem is that most students do not know what to ask. The truth is that most of us barely know anything about these majors to begin with, and don’t know how to choose.

The Lounge at Lex 24th
There’s this place I find myself really enjoy going to. It’s located two floors below the gym in a nicely spaced reserved area. There the lights are kept dimmed, and comfy sofas are placed around the perimeter of the lounge. Unlike most places in Baruch, here you can take naps or study without disturbance. Unlike the library where there’s a lot of people, here there’s only a few. When it comes to talking with their friends, people often talk softly. For all the times that I’ve been here, not once has there been obnoxiously loud group of people shouting at each other. The Newman Vertical Lounge is a gem.
First Blog: To the Health Center!
During my first week at Baruch, I decided to take a nice trip to the Health Center. Little did I know that the Health Center is extremely hard to find! After searching the Vertical Campus from top to bottom I decided to see if it’s in that building across the street(what’s it called? Newman Horizontal Campus? lmfao). After what feels like forever I found out that it’s actually behind the Vertical Library building, next to Bao Bao Cafe. I remember thinking to myself, why is it located here of all places? When I walked in, the receptionist was talking in Spanish with someone on the phone. She seems rather occupied despite the emptiness of the waiting room. I wrote down my name and information on the waiting list, then waited. After a couple of minutes, the doctor called my name. She’s friendly and rather informative. I was just glad that I was able to find the place.
