Going into Baruch I pretty much knew I wanted to be an accountant. This is one of my main reasons why I just to come to Baruch College instead of following my sisters foot steps (by going to Queens College). What really confirmed my decision was when our academic advisor came to our FRO class. She spoke about all of the necessary requirements for the business school and answered all my personal questions about becoming an accountant. I can see that I have a long road of schooling ahead of me but she really made me think into depth if this really is what I want to be doing with my life.

monologue
Who am I?
I’m the girl on the train
I’m the long island girl who commutes to and from school
9:06,6:40,7:20,12:35,5:04 Peak/OffPeak
These train times are the new meaning in my life.
I study the people on the train
Where are they from?
Do they work?
Are they tourists?
Some in a suit and tie, some in sports jerseys, some in casual Friday clothing on a Tuesday
I always like to sit in the seat next to the window
Study the outdoors
The transfer at Jamaica cuts my daydream short
I prepare to get off at my stop
I then realize all of the work I have to do
Only to then realize again that the cycle begins in the morning
What cycle?
Being the girl on the train
But who am I?
I am more than a girl on the train
But you have to get to know me to figure that out.
Hillel
One Monday afternoon during class Gavi Mayer and I had some free time. This kid who is in our sociology class introduced himself to us and told us how he’s an active member in the Hillel. He and another initiative leader took us out for coffee and explained all the different things the Hillel does. For example there’s pizza every Monday and Wednesday and all the upcoming events. They then took us to see where the actual Hillel was located and showed us the memo board with all of the upcoming events. Then we went to a meeting room where a video was being played about the terrible massacre in Las Vegas. Then they switched the mood to let us know that they were building a Sukkah (it’s a Jewish tent basically) on the 8th floor terrace. The Hillel was a cool and interesting place. Definitely a good resource on campus.
Securityyyyyyyyyyyy
So it’s your second week of freshmen seminar class, and you are running 5 minutes late. You’re bugging out because you know the main rule about freshmen seminar class is to be on time and show up. So you run through the Newman Vertical Campus building doors and you take out your ID to swipe through. You keep swiping, and swiping, and swiping but low and behold you still see the red light. Luckily you’re not the only idiot whose card isn’t working. The front desk security team was a huge help!! They checked out my card and said that I was good to go. I am very thankful for the security help desk because without them I would not have been able to enter the building and attended classes for that day.
