Freshman Seminar Fall 17 DFD

Visit to the MET Museum!

I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for my Global History Class. We had to go to the museum to choose an object on the stuff we learned about in class and write an essay on it. The museum was free with CUNY ID and it was a very interesting experience. It was like traveling back into time when I saw ancient architects and paintings. For my assignment for global I chose an architect of the God Amun-Ra from ancient Egypt. Overall, it was a very fascinating experience and I highly recommend anyone to go check out the museum if they haven’t yet.

Visit to the Museum of Modern Art Blog post #2

Last week, I visited the Museum of Modern Art or MoMa. I had to go visit this museum for an Art History project and I went with some classmates. We didn’t have to pay since it was free with the CUNY ID. It was a fascinating and interesting experience because I’ve never went to a museum with friends. We had lots of fun exploring the museum along with the many different arts inside. It was also very educating since I learned a lot about modern art and their style compared to renaissance arts that we learn in class. The museum was very artsy and many pictures caught my eyes, but, the picture that caught my attention the most was this picture I took a selfie with. It was a picture of a person in the middle with two faces on the right and left of him which I interpreted as everyone has two sides to them.

On Thursday September 6, I attended the general interest meeting for a business Fraternity. The name of this business frat is called Alpha Kappa Psi. During the general interest meeting, I got to meet many new people who were all friendly. There were a total of four speakers and they all gave very informative speeches about their career and passion. Each and every one of them also talked about their experience at Baruch and it motivated me to work hard so I can be successful like them. There were also food and drinks. They gave out dumplings which tasted amazing! I stayed for the whole meeting and without a doubt it was very informative and fun!
