For my career blog, I decided to go to the career center on the second floor of the Baruch campus. I wanted to visit it a long time ago, but for some reason I never had the chance to do so. Before going ,I printed out my resume and asked a woman at the front desk if they can review it and give me some feedback or tips on how to improve it. I was introduced to another woman, who accompanied me into her office. There she reviewed my resume and gave me a guide on how to make a good one. It turned out that my resume wasn’t well organized, therefore I had to change its structure. After that, I went back to the main office and asked them where I could find open positions and interships. They gave me the STARR career website that I’m going to look through and hopefully I’ll find a job that will suit me and my qualifications. I would definetely recommend everyone who are freshmen and seeking for a job to go to the career center. The people who work there are very polite and always willing to help.

I decided to visit metropolitan museum to write my second blog. First time I was in this museum was 2012 when I went to the US as a tourist, but I barely remember anything so it was good to refresh my memory and go over all the exhibitions again. I asked cashier for tickets and was surprised that you can pay as much as you can, beginning with 1 cent so I paid 1$ and got in. When I was little I was interested in Ancient Egypt and this museum has a plenty of objects from that time, including things from the tombs of the pharaohs of the last dynasties all of which interested me a lot since Egyptian history is very intriguing to me. I also skimmed through the rest of the exhibitions, but I spent most of my time at the Egyptian exhibition. Despite the fact that it was a evening of Monday there were a lot of people in the museum. I really enjoyed time spent in MET and I definitely look forward to visiting this museum again!

On the first session of the Hillel club which I went to, we started off with eating different types of food and following that we were introduced to what the Hillel club was about by Ilya Bratman and he gave us a very entertaining story about his involvment in the Iraq war in 2004. He started off with giving us basic information of the Iraq war and during this brief introduction, he showed us pictures of soldiers and combat during the war. He told us an interesting story of when he was in a plane and it looked like it was about to crash, which lead him to evaluate his life and life decisions overall, which lead him to overthink almost every aspect of his life, from the smallest things to his overall lifes purpose as he thought he was about to die in a plane crash, luckily, he survived and looked to seek a new career path away from the military. Since Hilel is mainly a Jewish club, he introduced us to the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah and gave us information about it, like how to celebrate it and what to wear and what to do.
It was very entertaining overall and I definetly will go to more events provided by Hillel club.
UPD: I’m going to attach a photo of myself later, my phone is broken right now.
