Freshman Seminar Fall 17 DTC

CPP

CPP, conversation partners program, is aimed at gaining experience in communicating across language barriers for both native and non-native speakers of English. I knew this program both by my English teacher and friend.
While reading the introduction of it, I was excited because I believe it will be a chance to know our school. At the same time, I can make friends. I am shy and warm up slowly to people. Normally, I didn’t start to talk to classmates until the end of the semester. It is not only because of personality but my English. I am not confident in my English. Therefore most of the time, I speak my mother tongue to my friends who are mostly Chinese. It’s always difficult for me to make friends with English Speakers because we share different culture and interests. We don’t have the same punch line, either. So I want to know what are their hobbies are and how their lives look like.
By attending the first meeting, I met my partner, Rina. She is a really nice junior who had answered me tons of questions about school and college life. I am so moved!

(They also offer several events)
