Freshman Seminar Fall 17 DTC

Major and Minors Fair

Last week, a few friends and I were present at the Major and Minors Fair that happened on Thursday. The whole room was very crowded and much of the room was filled with conversations between professors and students looking for a major or minor they might like. Most of the majors that were occupied were those such as financing, accounting, and marketing which was unsurprising since Baruch is known for its business courses. I was able to find who I believe were the professors that teach Computer Information Systems shortly after arriving and they were able to inform me of the courses I would have to take in order to be able to enroll in their classes. This was extremely helpful because not only did they tell me what I would have to take in order to get into my major but also what other computer-related courses I could choose in Baruch. This event was essential in that it helped other students and myself discover what we felt was an appropriate major to earn a degree in the future.
