Fro blog post #3 Starr workshop

Yesterday, I attended a Starr workshop on Job search strategies. My goal coming into the workshop was learning ways to getting a job of course and other possible tips that may help me effectively get a job.

Throughout the workshop, Sandra Kubrat who was our host, talked about multiple strategies and do and don’ts when looking for a job. Kubrat first started off by telling us never to go around asking for jobs constantly as it makes us seem desperate which can be looked upon unfavorably by employers.

Later on, she explains on making connections. Connections being people that can put you on to oppurtunities later in life. I agree on this as it important to make connections so you can hop on the opportunities.

Later on, Sandra taught us about how starr development center can help in our search for jobs. She explains that Starr offers many services like reviewing your resume to help improve it. Also, Starr offers self-evaluation test both in person and online. This can help you find out different career paths that are aligned with your interest.

Overall, the workshop was very helpful for me and I recommend for any who needs help in their career path to sign up for a workshop or just head out to the SCDC on the 2nd floor.

Visit to the MET ( academic blog #2)

So for my academic blog, I decided to head out to the MET or the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I went with my boy Michael, and it was fantastic. Although I been to the location before this was my first time really being able to appreciate the amazing art that was for show. The best thing about it was the sheer diversity of art that was on the display. The museum included art from areas like Egypt, United States, Asia, and many other places with wonderful types of arts.

Going into more details, when I first arrive, the building from the outside was amazing. The architecture was grand and beautiful, which me and Michael agree on. When entering you already get a glance on how amazing the place is. Even better, you decide how much to pay for admission which I think is awesome. When I entered the museum it was superb. One of my favorite parts was when we entered the American art which included some rooms. As soon I stepped into the room, everything felt different, almost soothing and relaxing which I rarely ever experience living in New York.

If you never been to the MET, please take the time and do your self a favor and visit the MET

Fro Blog Post #1(Student Life)

This Last Thursday I joined the E-sport club at Baruch. I also joined the Anime club as well the Thursday before that but I only took this one picture at  the E-sports one. Bart Actually introduce to me to the club which previously did not know of. Thank you Bart if you are reading this. I’ll see you there 🙂

To talk about the E sport. Although I’m new to it, I learned that it not only just a “gaming club” but also a place to make new friends. It’s a place to connect with those who have similar taste in video games and create bonds. On the video side, they have both casual and competitive, so if you just like playing basics fun games with friends or like to be competitive in videos games this is the place for you. I hope to continue my journey with the E-sports club and make new friends.

To talk about the Anime club. Once again, it a really cool place as well. Anime club It pretty self explanatory, it’s a great place for somebody who loves anime and connect with those who share the same love for anime.  You can build bonds with others and talk about anime that you watch or perhaps learn about new anime as well. They also host events through out the year that pertain to anime, I forgot exactly what they were but if it peaks your interest I highly suggest you look em up and join.

Overall,  Both clubs are awesome and are not to be overlook. If you have a love or interest for videos games both casual and competitve than e-sports club is something to look up. If you love Anime like One piece, Naruto and attack on titan, than give anime club a try.
