Freshman Seminar Fall 17 DWB

Sarah Mohamad Blog #1

Hi everyone, pretty sure you all know me because we are all in the same FRO, but if you don’t, I’m Sarah and I am a biology/natural science major. I always help those in need, human or animal, and I think it is very important to help those who need it the most. Putting a smile on someone’s face or keeping them warm by donating one of your sweaters to a clothes drive is such a vibrant feeling that everyone should experience at least once. I always donate to charity organizations and I am a member of ASPCA. I always participate in protests and pledges for animals, but I have never joined an organization that helps children and families. When I found out there was a UNICEF club/organization at Baruch, I signed up right away. I got an email about their first general interest meeting and I RSVP’d.

I attended the meeting and it was cool. They explained that they like to help as much as they can, as well as I. They organize events, charities, and they also do partnerships/sponsorships to help raise money. I signed up to join the club and I honestly do not know how this whole thing works. I have no idea if I need to be accepted in or me attending the meetings and being active in the club means I’m in, I don’t know. But I am going to be active and participate in UNICEF and see where that takes me. I am very excited to see what will happen in the future and allowing this club to help me do the charity I’ve always wanted to do!
