In the past September, I went to the Career Fair that Baruch hosted in the gym. It was a business professional event so I had the opportunity to meet many business professionals and I used it as an opportunity for networking. Many of them are Baruch alumni, which makesĀ it easier for me to talk to them because we have went through similar situations. There are also campus recruiters in the career fair, and I talked to a few to do some research on the companies. The recruiters are really helpful in terms of offering information about their companies, which clears up a lot of things for me. The business professionals even made presentations no how to better present ourselves. Overall, the Career Fair is helpful to me and all the other Baruch students. It was a great opportunity to network and learn about companies other than the well-known firms and corporations. The Career Fair gave me some suggestions of what I should do in the future and where I should be heading to.

Last Thursday I visited a few clubs during club hour. Since I signed up for notification emails in the first general interest meeting, I was able to track down the rooms where the club took place in. I checked out the UNICEF club, Hindu club, and eSport Club. UNICEF club targets mainly on fundraising. The club leaders presented a powerpoint with all the fundraising events listed. The most recent one will be a Halloween fundraising and a multicultural food event. Another cool thing about the club is that everyone who are interested in becoming a member are given a piece of paper with tasks we need to complete. When we accomplished all the listed things on that paper, we are officially admitted as an UNICEF member. Although all the UNICEF fundraisers are for good cause, I am not interested in collecting charity from people. Hindu club also hosted a stand on the lobby. They had a few fun activities: water painting, guessing how many M&Ms are in a jar, and getting a henna done. The club has many exciting events coming up, and I think it will be an interesting club to join. Lastly, I went the general interest meeting for eSport club. Even though I barely game, it was surprising to learn that Baruch actually have professional gaming teams that compete in international and domestic competitions.

This past Friday, I visited The Museum at FIT, which is located on West 26st. The museum displayed their newest collection, drawing inspirations from the nature. The collection is called Force Of Nature, which included a diverse range of clothing pieces from the Victorian era to modern day designs. The collection had designer pieces from Alexander McQueen, and I was surprised to see it. The exhibit was dim with minimal light beaming at the fashion pieces, and bird chirping sounds would pervade the exhibit occasionally, it gave off a very calming and soothing feel. Although it was interesting to see a blend of natural science and fashion, the exhibition was limited due to the small amount of pieces being on display.
