Freshman Seminar Fall 17 EMA

MET

On Thursday we went to the MET. We picked this museum because of its beauty, and all of our interest in history. We walked in the museum, bought our tickets and showed it to the security guard. As soon as we entered into the museum we were greeted with an immense and beautiful room full of statues and a very detailed ceiling. We left this room to go into the one about Roman and Greek artifacts. This was my favorite one as I have been always interested in Greek myths and Roman culture. One of the artifacts we saw, that was interesting was a cup. This cup was part of a rare Roman collection and, therefore was very precious. After this we went down and soon found ourselves in the Egyptian section. We saw a tomb, and the caskets that were used to put mummies. Next was my second favorite part, the section of knight armor. This section was full of different types of knight armor and weapons. The center of attraction was knights on horses. The horses were detailed to the fact where you could actually see the veins. Next, we headed to the American section. The American section was not that big, however as soon as you enter you see a humongous painting of George Washington and his fellow comrades during the Revolutionary war. After admiring this picture, we checked the time and it was time for us to go. We headed out, unfortunately, we didn’t know the way out so we went into a circle on our first attempt. On our second attempt, we were able to find the exit. On our way out, we were looking at the building from the outside and admiring it. The building itself was marvelous and the architecture itself was unique. We were all happy that we experienced this amazing museum.
