During the first weeks of the semester, my friend who is international students just like me went an international event with me. It was an event that welcomes the international students to study in New York. During the event,  there were consular officers did a speech before the event was starting. During the speech, the consular officer’s talks about the interesting things happened to them when they first came to study abroad just like us. There are many international students came to this event, not just the students from Baruch bust also the students from other universities. The event provided the food and drinks for students. All the students wear formally.  The event is helping students to network with each international students so we can help each other.  I had a great time at this international education event.

I went to an activity last week. This meeting is about those employees, who are already working in the finance fields, come to share experiences about how they get the jobs and give us some right knowledge regarding the career.

The meeting was interesting, the managers bring us some food and water. during the meeting, he told us that the job may not be the same as your major. He also pointed out that we should get more internships in the summer and try to network early. The students who are come to this meeting are trying to find the strategies that can help them find a job.  although finding jobs seem far from me, it is better for me to familiar with the process early.

The meeting was not longer than 2 hours. In the end, he picked someone to help them set up a special plan for their jobs. This is a great activity.

last week, I took part a Metlife Event presentation about their internship and full-time programs to their clubs, as well as collect resumes from, and recruit, their numbers.

At the first, they just let us have pizzas and then start the speech.During their presentations, they made a speech about their clubs and what their jobs like. The most interesting part is the questioning part. Students were asking them how it was like to work in the Metlife. The employees were talking to students about what they learned during the internship and the most interesting part of their jobs. Then the employees talked about their programs that suit for students. They mentioned some requirements to the students.

The students were all wearing the formal suits and some of them were also bring the resumes. It was really fun to take part in such activity because students can learn the things about a different career experience which help them better define them.
