Visiting the Museum of Natural History

On a muggy Wednesday afternoon myself and a few friends decided to take a trip to the West Side of Manhattan to visit The Museum of Natural History. We had rented citi bikes and took a nice ride through Central Park to avoid the packed out subways. Central Park’s bike path had me pretty winded when I had to ride up hill with a flat front tire for about a minuet. After leaving Central Park and panicking for find a citi bike station so I would not go over 30 minuets and have to pay $4 I had made my way into the Museum for free with my CUNY student I.D. Not only is the Museum filled with fascinating artifacts and exhibits, it is also the set of the greatest movie series ever made, Night at the Museum. While walking around you could spot things that were directly in the movie which was pretty cool. But, my favorite part about the museum was the Rose Planetarium. There are so things people can learn and will learn in the future about space and it is crazy how vast and large the universe is. I also enjoyed other exhibits like the “Hall Of North American Mammals.” Here they had almost life sized and real looking stuffed animals. Also, I got to take a look at the new Mummy exhibit, which is rarely out on display. Through out my visit of the Museum I had been thinking that it is so crazy how civilized humans have become. In the North Western Native American exhibit I had looked at their clothes and weapons and compared them to what we have today. The difference is so drastic and it shows how far we have came as a civilization and the scary part is there is still more progress in civilizing being made every day.
