For my second blog post I had visited a club fair in the main gym of Baruch. My roommate and I decided we would like to join a club in order to get more involved in school activities and also meet new people and share ideas and such with them. I had not realized how many clubs there were before going to this meeting. I had walked around for a few minuets was giving a couple free refreshments and cookies and was even offered free pizza however, I deferred. I had seen many clubs for people of certain ethnicities and nationalities and also clubs for people with similar interest and goals. I had found myself interested in three clubs. The republican club, this is because I have republican views on politics and also I would love to debate liberals and roast them. The accounting f society was a club that had been very interesting to me not only because it would look like a good club for a resume but I am also very interested in learning about the fundamentals of accounting and how it works and what makes it work. The last club I was interested was the archery club. They had these massive bows and arrows which I found so amusing and I wanted to learn how to shoot one. The club fair was a very good event however next time they should lower the music because I could not hear much of what the club leaders were trying to explain to me about their club, which was unfortunate. However, the club fair was a great time and I was able to scout which clubs I would like to join and which I would not. Clubs are a great way to make more and new friends and also a way to share ideas that may make the school a better place.

UCLA Club Meeting
UCLA GIM #1 was the first club that I checked out. I found out about UCLA when I saw my friend promoting this club during convocation day and he encouraged me to check it out and so I did. Being in a room full of strangers was not as intimidating as I expected. I saw a few people I know that made it a lot more welcoming. The executive board members were also really nice and friendly and they really tried to get all of us involved by playing interactive games and activities. The general vibe of this club is very “homey” and comfortable which is very nice and I definitely see myself being involved in this club. A friend of mine also started chanting my name and I ended up playing the drawing game for my team because once one person chants, everyone started chanting which is out of my comfort zone but it was still lots of fun so that’s okay. I also forgot to take a picture so I screenshotted this from their IG and the circled one is me!
