Freshman Seminar Fall 17 EWA

Starr Career let’s get started workshop

The Starr Career workshop was extremely helpful in my opinion, they helped me choose what careers will be right for me according to my personality and personal interest/hobby. Initially, I was interested in accountancy, then the representatives educated me in the responsibility of being an accountant. I then lost interest in being accountant and switched my intended major to finance. They also gave me tons of extremely useful resources such as Focus 2 and other online resources and program opportunities such as pre-law.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

So about a week ago, I accompanied my friend on a school trip to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Initially, it seemed like any other boring school trip But, the entire experience was an eye opener for me. The atmosphere in the museum was very unreal and it gave me a short break from all the midterms I had at the time. Moreover, it gave me a glimpse of all the available knowledge that are out there. I was originally planning to go there solely for the blog. However, at the end of the day I actually enjoyed the experience altogether. Surprisingly yet, I am planning another tour there soon! I highly recommend everyone to make a visit to the Metropolitan Museum if you haven’t been there before.

UCLA – United Chinese Language Association

I was given a pamphlet when I went to the club fair on the day of our convocation. I was always interested in Chinese culture and this club was the key to my interests. So I decided to join the club and I went to their general interest meeting last Thursday. Joining this club gave me a glimpse of the culture at Baruch and the importance of mentor ship. During my time in the club, we were playing google feud which is guessing google searches. I felt a sense of belonging and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I am planning to commit to the club .
