So on Sept. 5th, I attended a KPMG social meeting hosted by the Beta Alpha Psi Fraternity of Baruch and I have to say it was amazing. Aside from the various associates that came down to speak with us, I was impressed by the professionalism shown by the VP co-chairs. They were able to host such an amazing meeting and let us spend time with such qualified people.
- June
- An associate that has stayed with KPMG for 30 years and has such a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has broadened my horizons on the values of different studies and ways to apply it.
- Brianna
- A grad student who is also an associate for KPMG Metro, the fact that she can do both is astounding. Aside from her witty humor and her in-depth explanations for various things such as meetings, interviews, etc she was a godsend in reassuring me that perhaps I’m at the right place.
- Sunny
- The other grad student who is also an associate for KPMG FS. Aside from her amazing hair and blunt nature, she is also extremely knowledgeable about the various services provided on campus itself.
To be frank, I didn’t expect the meeting to be as fun and intriguing as it was. To wear a suit in 80 degree weather takes dedication and to see over 30 people pulling up to the room in full regalia was quite intimidating for a freshmen. But if I had the choice to repeat this experience, I’d do it in a heartbeat!
Well, if you want to show that you went to the event you did a good job. This was very thorough but what are your interests? What do you like to do? I am glad that you are getting a head start on your career because it’s never too early to get an internship or getting more information on what you want to do. Keep look out on the companies that will be on campus but don’t neglect the things that you like do to.
