Freshman Seminar Fall 17 EWB

Blog Post 3

For my final blog post, I decided to show up at the Start up Tech fair. As I entered the room, there were many companies looking at resumes and trying to get kids to intern at their company. I decided to look around and maybe find a company that I enjoyed. However, I did not.  The Q and A that took place during the event was extremely informative and allowed me to understand the daily lives of these people. They did serve free sandwiches which made the fair much better. All in all, the tech fair was a good attempt for me to expand my horizons even though I did not enjoy it.

SACC Session

For this blog post, I decided to go to an academic workshop. I went online and scheduled an appointment for a math tutoring session. I arrived to my appointment to find out that there is someone else joining me for the session. I didn’t mind having another student there as my tutor gave us equal attention. We went over my test that I recently took. My tutor not only did the problems with me but she also helped me understand my mistakes on the test. After that, we started going over the new material I learned in class. She helped me understand the new concepts that were taught in class, and I feel confident with the material now. Overall, I had a great experience at SACC and advise all students to use this office for any math problems.

Freshman Seminar Fall 17 EWB Blog Post on Student Life

This past Thursday, I stopped by the Hillel at Baruch in order to get more involved in the club. Being a Jew on a non Jewish campus, it allows me to connect to all the other Jewish people on campus. It also allows me to feel like I always have a place to go if I ever have any questions or concerns about school. After socializing and eating with the president and vice president of the Hillel, I know that the Hillel at Baruch will provide me with a place to continue to explore my Jewish identity. I am looking forward to being a full participant during my time at Baruch.
