I was nominated to attend Baruch Voices by my FRO class. Going into it, I was a bit nervous but I had support from friends who came to watch. There was a bigger audience than I thought. The other nominees had great performances and I was able to improve my own presentation skills through this event. I was a bit shaky in the beginning of my performance but it faded away quickly after a few seconds and it turned out fine. I stayed until the end because there were interesting monologues that other people performed. It was a great experience which allowed me to not only perform in front of a large audience but also allowed me learn from my peers.

Academic Blog (MET Museum)
.
The outside looked really nice. The springs and stairs looked well together and gave you a clean professional feeling. Looking at the map, there were so many exhibits and it overwhelmed me a bit because I couldn’t choose what to go to first. I just followed whichever seemed to have more people walking towards which happened to be Egyptian exhibit. Walking through most of the museum, I felt the atmosphere of the different times that the items were constructed. It felt like I was actually a part of the civilizations due to the details of the exhibits and also how well preserved everything was. There was a lot of great sights to take pictures in. Unfortunately, I only took pair pictures and pictures of the paintings/objects itself. But this is a painting of the “Circus Sideshow” by Georges Seurat. The person I went with was the one who recommended this exhibit of paintings and I thought this one was very interesting because it felt like a story was being told in a single image.
Vietnamese Student Association & E-Sports Club
My experience at the club event was great. I visited the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) in the first week and this week I went to the E-Sports Club’s first GIM. During both GIM’s, we did icebreakers which were a bit awkward but regardless, I was able to meet new people and learn about club activities. Both GIM’s completely filled the room with people, so it was exciting to see all these new potential friendships to be made. The leaders/executive members of both clubs were very friendly and outgoing. I also hung around the first floor, where there was music being played and there was actually quite an amount of people which I did not expect. Overall, the event showed me how Baruch can be more than just a go-to-school-and-go-home school and how getting involved can better my student experience.
