Freshman Seminar Fall 17 EWB

Me at the MOMA!

The moma was also pretty cool. I liked it a lot. It’s a different vibe the the MET because it is more contemporary art, similar to David Zwirnir, but I liked it a lot. I think this is my favorite museum because a lot of the art was more modern (hence museum of modern art) as oppose to more traditional art that was in the MET. The MET was definitely more historical than the MOMA. As a whole I really liked the MOMA. This exhibit was really cool. That other girl is my cousin Alex. She’s from LA and she’s never been to the MOMA so we went and took cute pictures. This room was cool cause it was all projector stuff. I felt like I was underwater in the movie. Cool stuff. Definitely visit the MOMA if you haven’t already. 🙂

Me at David Zwirnir!

So the David Zwirnir exhibit was one of the coolest exhibits I have been to so far, also the most artsy! There were three different rooms. One was a room that was all mirrors everything. There were mirror balls hanging from the ceiling, every wall was a mirror; you could definitely see every angle of your body without turning around and looking behind you. The next room was a semi-interactive room. You would pop your head into a hole and there would be lights flashing of different colors and mirrors surrounding the lights. The last room was a white room with red polka dots everywhere. The room kind of reminded me of alive in wonderland. A white room with red polka dots. Pretty cool. I highly recommend you visit this exhibit. I did wait an hour on line in the cold, but other than that the rest of the experience was amazing.

Me at the MET!

I’ve never been to the MET  before so going for the first time was really cool. I saw a bunch of cool exhibits. One was the WWI exhibit. I saw some really cool pictures of soldiers and people in uniform. Also part of the museum they had rodin at the met, michelangelo, and edvard munch. I did not know much about most of the artists, but reading the biographies next to their paintings gave me a little idea of what kind of individuals they are. Also, i noticed that different artists have various styles. I thought that was really cool. After going to the met I have been inspired to take an art class and art history class. I feel like a changed person after the MET. I suggest whoever reads this goes and looks at the wonderful paintings and sculptures these amazing people have brought into our lives.

Guinean Students Association

So the club that I attended was the Guinean Students Association. I saw their flyer in the front of school. Usually I don’t attend ethnically diverse clubs so I thought why not? During the meeting we did some ice breakers and watched a video. Going into this meeting I had no idea what Guinea Culture is/ what it’s like so I learned a lot during the meeting, and from google. Yes, I did search up the culture because I have no connection to it. So during the presentation they introduced the club itself and what they do. Most of the icebreakers were just introducing yourself to everyone and getting comfortable with the people. I don’t think I’ll join the club though, I don’t really have time.
