Freshman Seminar Fall 17 EWB

MoMA

I went the MoMA because I missed going there for museum reports (for some reason). I forgot I couldn’t go in for free anymore so that made me frustrated. I should’ve shown them my student ID or something. It was the usual stuff—weird modern artworks along with a few classics, like the Starry Night and some Basquiat pieces. Still, it was cool to see the different techniques used in the installations, however provocative they may be. Overall it was an interesting experience.

SACC

I went to a SACC tutoring session at 7:00 pm because I’m reckless with my health. Most the most part it was helpful; we (like a group of 4 students) got to pick problems out of test samples and reviewed them. My tutor was really fun and quirky which made the experience better. My main complaint is that we couldn’t go over some problems due to time constraints and I wish SACC offered one on one tutoring for math. However, I will still utilize this service as it did help me prepare for my exam.

Women in Business GIM

On Thursday I attended the Women in Business General Interest Meeting. It was great to see so many girls of the same major as me. I expected the club to revolve around networking, but the club leaders discussed some fun events, such as volunteering and a fashion show. They also talked about open leadership positions, which seem like a lot of work. The club, in general, seems to require a lot of commitment. Everyone there was incredibly friendly and welcoming, so I think I’ll join as a club member.
