On September 28, I went to the Club Fair. Walking around the room, I saw a lot of people and I went to random tables. I didn’t really know what I was looking for because most of my interests originate outside school activities, especially academics. I mean if I’m going to join a club, I want it to act as a break from academic life. Most of the club tables I went to had to do with business and I began to realize most of the clubs in Baruch are really serious and relate to academic/professional development. As a result when I did find a club outside of being serious in the academic and professional sense, I was intrigued. This club is called “She’s the First” and it has to do with giving back to your community. It provides an opportunity to give girls an education in other countries where they are denied an education due to traditional social and economic issues. In order to do so, you would participate in fundraising activities while doing promotional work. I find this club different, it brings people together of different backgrounds while making the world a better place.
