In this amazing event that changed my perception of cover letters. I honestly thought this even will be boring and dull. I was completely wrong, it was the exact opposite. The teacher was enthusiastic and amazing. She taught us the importance of a cover letter and how to perfectly structure them. She told us the secrets of writing the perfect cover letter. I feel like now if I ever need any help, STARR has my back. The teacher gave us handouts that illustrates examples of what a good, bad example is of a cover up. The teacher was very open to questions and put us all into groups to decide which cover was best. Also, the teacher only allowed a person to speak once, so other people will have a chance to talk. Overall, it was a great experience, it was right after a good lunch, and now I am prepared and ready to write my own amazing cover up letter.

Isaac Arazi : Academic NYC Museum
Carlos and I decided to go to The Metropolitan Museum of Art aka MET. Its located in Manhattan near Central Park. It’s the largest art Museum in the United States. The site was beautiful. There were beautiful water sprinklers and the structure of the building is astonishing. When we walked in, we immediately saw ancient Egypt statues. We walked into The Prehistory of Egypt. We saw statues, hieroglyphics, ancient writings, and how pyramids were built. It was fascinating to learn all these new things about Egypt.
In the picture below, I am with a Mummy in a tombstone. It’s unbelievable of how Egyptians would burry people as mummies. They will be rapped up in natron and then drain all the fluids in the body and take out the brain. Then they will insert a sharp object that looks like a sickle into the nostril all the way through until the back of the head. Then they will remove all the internal organs, the lungs, liver, stomach, and intestines. There’s more to it, but i’m not going to talk about it in depth. The point is this is just one, only one of the many customs, rituals, beliefs that ancient Egypt had. The whole point of mummification was so the soul in the afterlife will be happy and pleasurable. It was fascinating visiting the MET and hopefully one day I’ll go again to see more than just Egypt.

Hillel Club – Isaac Arazi FRO

I knew about this organization in high school. The Hillel has expanded to many colleges for (but not entirely) the Jewish people. I knew about this club because it would connect Jewish teens in college. When I walked in Baruch, Hillel was the first place I was looking for. Not only because I was hungry and desperately needed kosher food, but rather because I wanted to meet more people. Hillel, did just that. Right when I walked in (took 30 minutes to find this club), I was greeted by the head of the EBOARD(not the one in the pic, that’s just a random staff). He welcomed me in and told me all about the Hillel.
Hillel is here to bring college students together and have fun at the same time with your brothers. The Jewish connection just makes it better, we all know the same language. The club is also there for me to learn more about Israel, stocks and investments. This club also has like mini clubs in it for me to join, like the Tamid group or the Gesher (Typically for Syrian Jews like me). So when I walked in, I knew this is the perfect fit. I met my Jewish brothers. I felt like I was at home. The program offers so many amazing things that I will love to join and be a part of. Just like last week on Thursday, they brought in a woman who beat cancer and she told her story so we can learn from her. Just like for example to never give up and your family is always there for you. These are life lessons that Hillel teaches and I feel lucky to have this program here to help me, guide me, and help me grow for the rest of my years in college.
