For the past two Thursdays, I went to a club GIM called UCLA (United Chinese Language Association). I was instantly surprised by the amount of people who went to this GIM as seen in the pictures above. I never expect a club meeting to have so many people. A lot of people had to sit on the floor or stand for the entire time including me. The club meeting started by the introduction of the club and its board members. While introducing the meaning and objective of the club, I start to realize that this club isn’t just where Asians gather together. It’s about spreading and learning about the Chinese culture regardless of ethnicity. It made me more interested in the club.
Then we started to play several games and people started to get very excited. Due to the large amount of people, it was difficult to have everyone involved, but it was still very fun to watch the participants competing each other. The board members were also very energetic and nice to talk to. The food arrived and the people got even more excited. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the food because there was absolutely way too much people waiting in line. As a matter of fact, the picture above shows how I’m trying to get through all those people to get food. In all, the club GIM certainly caught my interest to continue attending future meetings.
