For my career blog post, I was invited and went to the Google building in Manhattan located at 111 8th Ave. The event consisted of business professionals sharing their businesses and organizations as well as their life experiences. There were all sorts of people; there were people from ESPN, Fox News, Google, Professors and even Entrepreneurs. Every time a couple people shared their words, there would be a pause which allowed everyone to network with these professionals. I was able to obtain business cards and converse with them about what they do, why did they choose their career, what motivates them etc. There were many industries present. One particular organization’s goal was to decrease the number of homeless students in New York City, which was around 100,000. I could see and feel the motivation and passion of each of the individuals in their respective fields. There was also tons of food, ranging from tacos to burgers and from soda to lemon water. The building itself was a beauty from the inside, although the elevators were cramped.
