On 9/7/17, I attended an event hosted by the United Chinese Language Association located in North Vertical Campus in room 10-175. When I walked in to the room, it was filled with an amicable atmosphere and the people there welcomed us like we were their guests. Something I noticed was that there was a lot of Asians in a small room. The members of the organization gave us a brief summary about their identity and their purpose. Their purpose was to introduce or have people around Baruch campus familiarized with Chinese culture and they do this in different ways like talking with new members, getting involved in activities, etc. After that, we played 2 games together. It wasn’t so much about what the games were, but how the games brought people together. Although I didn’t speak at all, there was a lot of communication and teamwork that I could see during those games. It was nice to see how involved everyone was and it definitely shows that UCLA knows how to make new members comfortable. After that, food was served and everyone was having a good time. Overall, this UCLA meeting was a satisfying one and I would recommend others to go join. The good thing is all races are welcome and you are guaranteed to have a great time.
