  4. An inner obstacle that stands between me and my success in college is my tendency to procrastinate.
  5. People besides me who could help me overcome this inner obstacle are my friends and my counselor.
  6. How they could help me is by helping me create a work schedule so I can force myself to start my work on time.
  7. The most challenging course I took so far in college this semester was Pre-Calculus.
  8. This course was challenging for me because the topics moved very quickly and I didn’t have a lot of time to study.
  9. Someone besides me who could help me overcome this challenge is a math tutor.
  10. How this person could help me is by helping me with topics that I’m struggling in and we keep working on problems until I understand it completely.

Two Choices to create a stronger support system

  1. Utilize all the helpful resources at my school.
  2. Create a schedule to better manage my time.

Journal Entry 12

  1. One of my goals as a student is to graduate with at least a 3.3 GPA.
  2. Personal qualities that will help me achieve this goal: I’m relaxed meaning I won’t let myself get stressed out, persistent, intelligent, and hard working.
  3. 3 most important qualities: Persistent, hardworking, and intelligent.

4.  Three versions of personal affirmation.

  • I am a persistent, hardworking, and intelligent man.
  • I am a persistent, hardworking, intelligent man chasing my dreams.
  • I am a persistent, hardworking, intelligent man, and I will be great.

5. I am a persistent, hardworking, intelligent man, and I will be great.

6. One example of my persistence was when I didn’t give up on myself when I got injured. I hurt my foot playing football on the streets in 2013 and I was required to go to rehab. Even though the pain was excruciating, I pushed myself to not give up and eventually my foot got better.

One time my brother needed me to do some urgent work that he wouldn’t be able to complete due to his busy schedule. I worked from morning to night to complete this task.

One time where I displayed my intelligence was in high school when the geometry regents were coming up. I struggled in geometry so I made the right choice to attend tutoring and I dedicated many hours to studying. By doing this I passed the regents and I would not have able to if I hadn’t made the right decision.

What I have learned concerning my use of time

What I learned about my use of time is that I spend the majority of it on things that won’t benefit me in the long run. I need to cut back on social media and texting because these are things that I am on throughout the entire day. I spent the next most amount of time on quadrant I. This is a good sign because it tells me that at least I’m not throwing away all my time. Although I spend most of my time in quadrant IV, I believe that I will still be able to achieve my goals and dreams. I’m still focused on what’s important and things such as social media won’t throw me of course.
