10. How this person could help me is by studying with me, as he also takes Anthropology at City College.

2) Write about two choices you could make to create a stronger support system for yourself in college:

Two choices I can make to create a stronger support system for myself are creating a study group for courses that I find difficult and planning my schedule in a more punctual manner. Study groups can be resourceful, as others whom understand the material can assist me and vice versa. Being more punctual in creating a schedule would allow me to manage my school work easier.

Journal Entry #14

  1. I do not have a system to decide what to do each day, which is a bad idea because I need to have a system to get well organized since I lack in this quality. I usually write it down under notes or calendar on my phone to remind me what I need to or what I need to get done for missing work. So far I am getting in the habit of checking what is due and it works.
  1. The monthly calendar and the project folder out of the five self-management tools will help me get organized because it will be helpful to get organized in every aspect of my college career with my classes and other important events.

  1. I don’t have a system to decide what i will do each day. As much as i want to be organized and have a system, it just seem to never happen. I have thought of a few ways to change and I’m currently working on them. One way is to use a calendar to remind me of the work that i have coming up.

My Life Plan

My Dream:
Until I start to realize that life is all about the money and not the education, that’s when I know I have achieved my dream.

My Life Role: A graduating student at Baruch College

My Long-Term Goals in this Role: I plan on graduating from Baruch College and Grad school. I want to achieve both a M.S. and MBA within the next 7 years.
My Short-Term Goals in this Role:
.I will achieve a 3.5 GPA or better

.I want to travel abroad

.Milly Rock on that Gates block

.I will build and make new connections

.I will get an internship every summer

2.) I have learned to change my attitudes for achieving life goals by saying “I will do” rather than saying “I want to do”. If you want to do something, it doesn’t mean you have to do it. Opposed to saying that you will do something, meaning that you have to do it.

Journal Entry #14

  1. The system that I use every day when I wake up is to simply go with the flow. I don’t necessarily like making plans, my life is busy as is. I make mental notes for everything, I do not use a planner because it is a waste of time. To study for tests I usually study the review sheets and look over class notes. If I’m tired I usually take quick naps to give me more energy to complete my homework or study. I feel like my system is a resemblance of High School. When I start to become more mature and finally realize what real work is, then I will change my system.
  2. In order to improve my daily system I will have to make some adjustments. First I will change my whole routine, and get into the college flow. I have to try to always be one step ahead of my schedule. I want to better my self-managing system, by making myself more organized. I plan on getting folders for each class, so I don’t mix up any of my work. I’m somewhat organized just because I am neat freak, but I think I will have to start to become more considerate for the value of my school work. Overall I think it all comes down to experience, and my bad habits will change overtime.

1)Write about the system (or lack of system) that you presently use to decide what you will do each day.

The system I use to decide what I will do each day is note taking. I take notes all over my study books. I also use a calendar app on the IPhone. The app helps me remember important date and deadlines like this journal entry. I tried to use hard copy planners like planner books. I have bought dozen cute big, small, pink, blue, black, and pokadot planners, at the end they all go missing. I also count on others like my friends and my mom to remind me of important deadline.

2)Write about how you could use or adapt the five self-management tools in this chapter to create a leak-poof self management system and improve your outcome and experiences or, if you do not want to use or adopt any of these tools, explain why.

The five self- management tools will help me organize my life because right now it’s a “hot mess”. The monthly calendar will be help me to plan my main event for the school semester. The next actions list will help me focus on my day to day activity. The tracking form will help me track my progress of reaching my goals. The waiting-for list will help me reduce the number of times my goals got stuck waiting for someone and forgetting. The project folder is such a great idea because I constantly lose important document that contains to school because I don’t keep them in one folder! I will still keep my IPhone calendar of course because its easy to use.

My Life Plan

My Dream: I would like to have a career somewhere within the medical field. I am still currently searching for my dream.

My Life Role: Student

My Long Term Goals in this Role: To pass all my classes and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher. I would like to have completed at least three internships by the time I graduate. This will allow me to have a head-start in any career path that I choose to take.

My Short Term Goals in this role: This semester alone I would like to have a 3.0 GPA at least. I would like to complete all of my assignments on time and stay on top of my work.

2) By designing my life plan I learned that  I need to go into more depth on decisions I want to make. I need to make sure each and every decision is calculated and is one that is thought out thoroughly. Designing my life plan has revealed to me that I need to stay more focused on my journey throughout college. The only way I can accomplish these goals is by doing the best I can and being an overachiever. I want to obtain success more than anything and I can only do this by working hard for it. This is what I learned from designing my life plan.
