The last blog post.

My last few months of journey at Baruch is like escaping from somewhere.  I escaped from home. I escaped from my parents. I escaped from frustration. I escaped from the depressions of doing what I don’t want to do. Baruch is the place where these things happened. My savior is my most truthful and reliable friend, music. She saves my life as always. I am going to revolve, at least turing my life around.

Let me end the last blog post with an awesome song. Let ” The Spirit Carries On”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqi7tFv84z4

Where did we come from?
Why are we here?
Where do we go when we die?
What lies beyond
And what lay before?
Is anything certain in life? They say “Life is too short”
“The here and the now”
And “You’re only given one shot”
But could there be more
Have I lived before
Or could this be all that we’ve got?If I die tomorrow
I’d be alright
Because I believe
That after we’re gone
The spirit carries on

I used to be frightened of dying
I used to think death was the end
But that was before
I’m not scared anymore
I know that my soul will transcend

I may never find all the answers
I may never understand why
I may never prove
What I know to be true
But I know that I still have to try

If I die tomorrow
I’d be alright
Because I believe
That after we’re gone
The spirit carries on

“Move on, be brave
Don’t weep at my grave
Because I’m no longer here
But please never let
Your memories of me disappear”

Safe in the light that surrounds me
Free of the fear and the pain
My questioning mind
Has help me to find
The meaning in my life again
Victoria’s real
I finally feel
At peace with the girl in my dreams
And now that I’m here
It’s perfectly clear
I found out what all of this means

If I die tomorrow
I’d be alright
Because I believe
That after were gone
The spirit carries on

Freshman Seminar Monologue a.k.a. Blog Post #2 (Tony Shing Siu Sze)

Ain’t that the way it always starts! (Hail to the amazing Dave Grohl) Friends part after being together for years. People miss each other. It’s sad to leave but you have to go. The plane landed. Oh no, it’s cold… It’s zero degree…

I come to New York for college so how does my school like? Let’s go to class. The first lesson is the History lesson. I still don’t how to pronounce her last name today. Anyway, History is quite easy. Let’s go to the German lesson. Opps! I mean music lesson. Then, it’s the math class! Wait! Where is the professor? Hey, you mean that skater boy is my professor? I know it’s the season for snowboarding, but… Whatever. Everything is going well until afternoon. First, it’s the damn English lesson taught by a crazy cat lady. You know, sitting in such a hot and boring atmosphere makes me feel sleepy after having lunch. But sometimes, the best is yet to come. That accent and that handwriting, that is the sociology professor! Please kill me. In conclusion, male professors are way better than female! ALWAYS!

Let’s talk about the campus. Actually, it’s awesome to go to school at the middle of the city. At least you don’t need to get drunk everyday like the students in upstate. You have fun around you. Do you know what’s great about having a small campus? You don’t need to use 15 minutes to walk and locate your classroom. Um… Maybe! Baruch’s room numbering system is dumb and so wrong.

After all, everything is settled. Everything is nice and done. Let’s think of what am I going to be! Everyone urged me! You little dumbass! Go to study accounting! You have to be an accountant. For what? Why? That’s what they can’t answer me. Anyway, in the whole world, I only give a shit to my parents. Because it’s my parent assigning me this honorable missionary, I have to get it done! I will shut their mouth!

However, you know what? I don’t want to trap myself in a cage for my entire life! Yes! Let’s laugh at me! It’s childish. It’s naïve. College helps us to find our path. At the same time, it helps us to get lost too. We need dedications to find our way. Your time will come if you work hard! Be responsible to yourself. Do all the things you don’t feel like to do. Do that homework. Go revision. Wake up early. Bear that pain. Because sometimes it’s not about you want to do it or not! It’s about you had to do it and how to do it! You must get he job done so one day you can do whatever you want to do after these sorrows.

This is not a picture representing myself but I love this picture. The drummer of Avenged Sevenfold died at 28. (R.I.P. the Rev) You will never know when will you die so seize the day. It is your responsibility to live your life without regrets. There are tons of people want a chance to live like you. Also, I remind myself to stay calm a lot since there are so many times I screw things up because of anger. So keep calm and seize the day.

Blog Assignment 1: Tony Shing Siu Sze

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xl0iz8dlHM&feature=youtu.be

Hey guys! I’m Tony Shing Siu Sze and in Chinese, my name is 施承兆. I was born and raised in Hong Kong. My life is divided into many parts just like the photos in the video.

Hong Kong is known as a modern city but it’s more than. I love discovering the little known side of Hong Kong. When people go shopping and watching movies, I go hiking and cycling. When people get crazy about the night view, I am enjoying the sunset on an island. The forgotten side of Hong Kong is always shining aside the colorful, magnificent and crowded metropolis.

I have a younger brother. His name is Jayden. He was the doppelganger of me, when we were young and fat. It takes me some time to figure out which one is myself and which one is my brother in some old photos. We’ve spent 16 years together before I left Hong Kong. We sleep in the same room. We play soccer together. We share our food and thus, valuable memory together.

Soccer has always been my favorite sport. I fell in love with soccer after watching the World Cup 2002. My favorite soccer club is Barcelona and my favorite player is Xavi, who is a pass-first playmaker. In my opinion, he’s the most important part of Barcelona’s Tiki-taka.

I love food too. Since I was born Hong Kong, seafood is always one of my favorites. Also, spicy food is my craving. Last but not least, I love Hotpot, which is a Chinese dish that claimed to be invented by Genghis Khan’s Chief.

Another part of my life is travelling. To learn about a place, all methods seem futile for me except being into it. I go to travel every year but studying in New York is my first time to jump out of Asia. My most unforgettable journey is my graduation trip. I went to Taiwan with some of my best friends last July. I lie on the grass and saw the best sunset I’ve ever seen in Kenting.

Music is the most important portion of my life. It has turned my whole life around. It all started with Linkin Park. That was a time when a kid heard ‘New Divide’ and said, ‘the music is so cool.’ So on, I watched the video of ‘Bleed It Out’ and was fascinated by the drum solo of Rob Bourdon. It makes me start playing drums. I have never been that enthusiastic about something. I stopped being a video game nerd. I feel confident and energetic every time picking up my sticks. I used most of my free time practice. Then, drummer called Cobus Potgieter influenced me to put my drum covers on Youtube. I received lots of criticizes and meanwhile, supports. It was the first time for me to take others’ criticizes seriously and constructively and they push me so hard.

That’s it. Have nice day. Peace and love.

(P.S.: The video is in my drum cover channel. Check it out!)
